Sustainable habitat is central to Saint-Gobain's innovation strategy.
The Products and Systems' Thermal group combines the development of physical models built into the digital thermal modelling tools for buildings with conducting experimental programmes in the laboratory and in the field.
Thanks to Saint-Gobain Recherche's multidisciplinary capability, the development of solutions is not limited to the thermal aspects, but focuses more broadly on the comfort brought about by the lighting, acoustics or air quality etc. Thus, the applications developed range from insulation to active glazing (electrochromic), and include façade rendering, wall coverings and interior cladding.
Whether functional or decorative, these innovations are designed to reduce energy consumption in buildings and to meet the minimum current standards. They also aim to ensure the comfort of the occupants. This approach is fully in line with Saint-Gobain's strategy to be “the” benchmark in sustainable habitat solutions.
