... relying on methods

Saint-Gobain Recherche teams share common methods concerning team work projects and cross-functionality and relying on important resources and available tools.

How do Saint-Gobain Recherche teams work?
Collaborative work, project management, exploratory studies, ... our researchers are quickly integrated into multidisciplinary teams and they take part in research programmes in collaboration with marketing and production.

In charge of one or several studies, they work independently.  Working "without barriers" which encourages exchange within the company. Cross-functionality is an essential asset as a project can benefit from all skills present in our research centre

In order to facilitate communication between teams, we have put in place integration seminars for young employees and cross-functional working groups dealing with research topics and we regularly organise conferences.

Tools to serve our projects
Our researchers can use the many tools available to them: watch tools (scientific articles and patents databases), computing centre, modelling software, analysis laboratories, measurement apparatus, pilot, virtual reality...

Scientific Direction’s assignments

The Scientific Direction’s aim is to support our teams in their projects and to encourage the scientific quality of their research via access to external colloborations (PhD, post doc, etc.) and the implementation of high level scientific exchanges (scientific advisors, chairs, "technical days", etc.).

It also promotes innovation:

  • By encouraging openess to external contacts: through contacts with start-up businesses, techno marketing and the academic scientific community...
  • Internally: by supporting teams working on the group's major strategic projects and key programmes and by supporting scientific initiatives from think tank researchers
  • By organising exchanges between researchers from the different Saint-Gobain research centres
